Today`s review was done at Kalamaras Greek Taverna in Cockfosters located on the high street, very near to Cockfosters Underground station.
Upon arrival we were greeted straight away and taken to our table.
They were advertising a full meze for 12.50 Sun-Thur (14.50 fri&sat) so we though we would give it a try as it covers a large part of the menu and for that price we were curious on how good it would be, as most establishments charge around 17.00 upwards.
Our starters arrived but not the traditional or the way we have been acustomed to.
Feta cheese with green and black olives.
Dips pleasantly presented in a 3 figure platter and with the added variety of sunblushed tomatoes and aubergine dip.
Potato salad, massive king prawns ready peeled in what i can describe as a sweet chili mayonaise and a mini seafood plater, which was not the usual crabstick salad that everyone gets.
Everything tasted perfect especially the aubergine dip which had a little kick to it.
The server also mentioned that all dips were "home made", and to be quite honest you could easily
taste the difference.

Next up was the kalamari, haloumi, lounza and loukanico.
We all know the haloumi and lounza tastes the same but the loucanico was "krasato", very nice indeed and the kalamari was how it should be, crispy and hot.
Next up the meat platter which comes with a large bowl of salad and sauted potatoes.
This had to be the best meat platter i have had so far.
Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and very tasty.
We had pork kebab, chicken kebab, and lamb cutlets, which totally blew us away.
We were trying to figure out, how so much great tasting food would only be 12.50 per person.
The restaurant interior looks like you are in a banquetting suite, the ambience was perfect with the flowing greek music in the background.
I must also add that the toilets were clean and to a very high standard.
Overall fantastic food and the price, well you decide.
